-Bernoulli Prime, Colony Alpha- -2186 CE, April 17th.- -9:35 AM- Dr. Rosalie Farrel was late to the laboratory that morning. She polished off the last of her coffee, dropping the cup into a nearby recycler and rubbing her eyes, shaking off the last cobwebs of sleep. She bemoaned the cost of long nights spent riddling out the problems she was supposed to be solving on the clock, but the gifted chemical engineer felt like she was close, damn close, to a real solution. “Stead-E” Rosalie called out. “Review yesterday’s findings.” There was a brief electronic chime of recognition and a glimmer of light as her holographic lab assistant assembled itself from swirling light in midair. “Good morning Dr. Farrel!” The little AI chirped, then began to run through his daily review. “Twenty one total batches were tested on April 16th, with seventeen failures, three unstable structures and one nominal success.” Rosalie nodded. “Uploading some findings from last night.” She told Stead-E, tapping

(COM) A Perfect Fit- Chapter 3
“Stay close” Zoey reminded her wife. “This place has a lot on offer, but it’s easy to get lost.” Freddie leapt slightly. “Right...” The human had forgotten the way that her draconic paramour could speak directly into her mind when she was in her true form. It felt as if the great beast was speaking directly into her ear. But even with such a close link, Freddie only half-heard her. Her eyes were wide, trying to look in every direction at once. The incandescent, multifarious wonders of the Goblin Market were staggering. Stalls draped in boldly coloured fabric were everywhere, seemingly placed wherever the vendor could find space. Occasionally the mobile store fronts formed patterns, aisles to walk along or regimented rows, but it was mostly an outright maze that Fred could only navigate with Zoey’s assistance. On occasion, the human had to reach out a hand to steady herself against her wife’s emerald flanks, even if just to remind herself that this was all real. Over the sea of kiosks

(COM) Exhibiting Good Taste - A Point Picnic Story
The Point Picnic Museum of History had only recently been considered a landmark. Originally beginning life as a wing of old City Hall, the small gallery had been the only reason to visit the abandoned stone structure after the mayoral council had hiked up and moved to a less expensive address. Eventually, patronage and interest had caused the faltering curiosity to spread in popularity, suddenly possessing the means to grow in influence and size. Within a few years, the entire building had been dedicated to the showing of local history, public educational materials and even visiting exhibits from out of town. Tonight, the town was abuzz at the news that a brand new wing was opening, focused on the town’s own pre-revolutionary history and its founding, along with tales from the surrounding woods of Angelcap Glade. The wing could wait, however, when there was still the matter of the opening gala to attend to. The entire curator’s board was expected to attend, along with a substantial

COM - A Port in a Storm
It was the third day of rain, and the heaviest so far. Even by day, the sun felt like a distant memory, its murky glow barely illuminating the thick grey clouds that filled the sky. By night, shadow and damp enclosed the world, punctuated by a few brave lanterns that swung in the gloom. Two such burning lights bounced and swung off of a heavy carriage as it carefully trundled its way along the rain slicked rocks of the eastern shore. Kraigbaddon was a harsh place at the best of times, a rough coastal province perched along a wall of cliffs and sharp rocks that the ocean battered ceaselessly. During the stormy seasons, even the seasoned coachman felt as though he were leading his horses down the toothy teeth of some massive sea creature. Inside the coach, moods were a close partner to the weather. Four strangers sat in sullen silence, any attempts at rapport long since abandoned as they all collectively waited for the terminus of their voyage. The cold seemed to pass through the walls

(COM) A Perfect Fit - Chapter 2
A Perfect Fit 2 Fred was afloat in hazy dreamstuff as the world started to recollect around her. She writhed in gentle rapture and let consciousness seep back into her mind. She felt loose fabric beneath her and realized that she must be in her bed. Fred shifted and finally opened her eyes, noticing that the blinds to the bedroom had been pulled to block the morning sun. "Zoey thinks of everything." She mumbled as she finally sat up, rubbing her eyes and trying to clear the wooziness from her brain. She had drank more than she thought last night and was still feeling the effects. A bit of morning disorientation certainly beat a hangover. Her hands fell down her chest to check what she was wearing and found the familiar fabric of her wife's dress wrapped around her body. At least that silly bet was over and she could change into something more appropriate. She had to admit that Zoey's dress had definitely fit better than expected, not dragging anywhere near as much as she had feared.
